Wondering how to organize your kids’ bedroom? Let’s take a look at three cool tricks that work regardless of the size of your home.
Kids’ bedrooms are a place for fun and discovery, and usually for sleep as well. They’re also the main rooms in the home that can get cluttered up really quickly. For one, most kids have a lot of stuff. Secondly, most kids don’t know how to clean and organize themselves.
Use wall space
Encourage your child to take advantage of unused wall space. One option is to build or mount shelves or hang baskets on the walls to allow for more storage space. Label the bins or shelves if your children need to be reminded of what goes where. This allows for packing more in there and keeping toys and clutter off of the floor (so you won’t step on it and hurt your feet!).
Use under-the-bed storage
If there’s enough space under the bed, use this space for storage as well. You can get baskets or bins that fit under the bed and use them for extra clothing, toys (this is great for Legos!) and other items that your child may want to keep in his bedroom, but that can get cluttered. This is also a great idea for card collections, Shopkins, or other small toys or items that get easily lost or damaged. The boxes slide out when the child wants to play or use them, and then slide them back under the bed. It also prevents other toys and junk from getting lost under the bed.
Organize the closet
There is so much more you can do with the typical closet. Consider getting a professional closet organization done, or installing racks in your kids’ closets. It will give you so much more space to work with. You can do shelving and high and low racks. This allows for more clothes to fit inside, shoes in the bottom and sometimes even get bins of toys on those shelves as well. Everything will be neat and tidy, they can find it when they need it, and there’s more space to put things. Meaning they don’t get overwhelmed with keeping it clean.
If these cool tricks don’t work for you, then try getting inventive with the space you have. Remember, you can go to a dollar store and get boxes, baskets, and bins for low-cost. From there, you can find lots of great ways to organize your kids’ rooms and keep all the clutter and clothes off the floor and out of the way.
