What kind of people need Skill Trek? Over the years, we have found that people who are interested in Skill Trek fall into 2 groups. Check out what they are below and tell us what group you fall in!
I know it’s an old cliché, but you’ve heard the story of the woodcutter chopping down a big oak tree. Even with all the effort that he’s putting in, and the sweat pouring off of his brow, he’s doing little more than bruising the thick bark of the trunk.
“Why don’t you sharpen the ax?” asks a small boy as he sits on a stump watching the spectacle.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” answers the woodsman, “I don’t have time to sharpen the ax. I’m way too busy trying to cut down this tree.”
Sharpen the Ax
There are two types of people we hear from on a regular basis. The first are those who simply don’t have time for Skill Trek. It takes most of their day simply to have the academics taken care of. They couldn’t possibly find time outside of their math, English, science and so on to sharpen their ax.
Then there is the other group. They’re the ones who are also busy, frazzled, overwhelmed and everything else that the first group felt, but they had the forethought to try something different, they picked up that wet stone and started to sharpen the ax.
And here is where it all starts to make a whole lot more sense.
When you have a curriculum that is teaching your child better time management, financial literacy, maintenance, kitchen skills, domestic upkeep, garden skills and so on and so forth, not only are you furnishing them with skills that will set them up for life and set them head and shoulders above their peers, but with every skill they learn, they are boosting their self confidence and they are becoming a more valuable member of the family. We are so busy in our home; we don’t have time not to use Skill Trek.
How Skill Trek Benefits Families
“Oftentimes as parents we underestimate our child’s abilities. Skill Trek helps you set the bar high, but not too high for their age as well as ability. This is one program we will continue to use with each child as they grow!” Annette of In All You Do
“Skill Trek is the one thing I didn’t realize was missing from our homeschool journey. Life skills are safety skills for children with autism. Skill Trek makes sure I don’t miss any!” Penny of Our Crazy Adventures In Autismland
“Respect for older people, responsibility, cleaning up after yourself, being helpful and having a spirit of kindness – how did we lose all those things? Skill Trek would make a wonderful addition to any family’s library.”Karen Saari, Skill Trek Editor Team

“I sometimes don’t feel equipped to provide quality, focused time with my kids. I love that Skill Trek gives me a guide and ideas, and we’ve had some great one-on-one time with all of our children.” Skill Trek Mom
“At first I wondered how we could fit in one more curriculum into our homeschool day. The children learn progressively, principle building on principle, complete with application and reward. We don’t have time not to teach our kids these life skills.” ~ Skill Trek Dad
